While a lot of people are sitting around waiting for snow, the crew from Demonium has been busy shredding every damn day. Whether it’s going down at the park on Glacier 3000 or the mini in their dream chalet, there’s always something going on. We thought we’d hit up Andreas “Dre” Gebbe to get the full story on what they’re up to and how it all began.
Hey Dre, I saw that you guys have been killing it already this season in Les Diablerets. What’s new with Demonium these days?
Yes we have been running the camps since October 31st and will be going till December 19th … So far it has been a blast riding every day with great sunny weather!
The plan for this season? Same thing then every early season man, just hanging out with the crew on the Snowpark Glacier 3000 enjoying the snow, the sun, and having a good time with the boys riding from 9 to 5 you know the drill … : – )
We are still doing the camps until december 19th and everybody is welcome to join us for a session on the park, so just hola at us!
Nice! Actually, how’s the park looking these days?
The Snowpark Glacier 3000 has been looking pretty good and it will be open all the way to January 4th 2016.
It has a sick kicker line with 4 kickers in a row … 5m, 8m, 12m, 15m with good air-time and steeper landings since they moved the run’s location to a more inclined area then from the previous years. A sweet jib set up has been done as well, and the shapers have been working on it every week, adding new features on the regular. Of course there is a beginner / intermediate area as well, for all of those who want to start the season in a mellow mode.
Check out the pictures from our last photoshoot we did with Boris Mouton, Charles Balsan, Carlos Gerber, Arnaud Piguet, Fred Couderc and Anthony Brown shooting the camera.
For those who haven’t seen your set up at Chalet Budokan can you describe it?
Well if you are looking for a cool place to crash this is the spot !
For only 35.- a night the chalet is fully equipped and has all the necessities for riders looking to hit the Swiss Alps for some early season shred. The atmosphere is pretty chilled, open to all shreders ready to have a good time or wanting to get away for a bit. Day and night sessions get organized in the indoor mini ramp or in the backyard shred park once the snow starts falling. And for those who just want to hang out and relax, they can always chill in the lounge and listen to some good music while socializing with the other great people that come to visit the Chalet Budokan.
Last week we already add some early backyard shred with Lionel Simon and his crew Bastien Sturma, Louis Labertrande, Pierre Scafidi, Antho Berland, and Charles Balsan :
Keep an eye on our fb for more updates.
What’s the story? How did you guys end up with such a perfect spot? How long have you guys been putting on these camps and how did it all get started?
Wow this takes us back 12 years ago in 2003, when we heard that the famous James B camp, that was killing it back in the days at the Hotel Mon Abri, decided to stop running their camps. At the time it sounded crazy to us so we had to check out what was going on and see what was possible to do!
After studying the whole thing we decided to rent out the Chalet Budokan and launch the Demonium Camps in Les Diablerets. Since that first season in 2004 we’ve only had good times and met lot’s of great people sharing the same passion of riding … 11 years of running camps led us to travel quite a bit, basically to all the glaciers in the Swiss and French Alps, from our home base in Les Diablerets to Zermatt & Saas Fee and Les 2 Alpes in France. At all these resorts we’ve always worked with great people who are just as motivated as us to spread freestyle culture and shred the snowpark !
Of course, all this could never have happened without the support of our partners and all the riders coming through, spreading the word and contributing to what Demonium stands for today.

Good times and a great tradition! Who are your coaches this year?
Local boys Charles Balsan, Paul Chevalley, and Anthony Holland are our coaches this winter!!
Starting December 19th we are launching a new animation in partnership with the Diablerets Tourist Office called the “Shred Days”. The concept is to offer a special deal with 4 hours of coaching a day for 40 bucks!! With this special offer we hope to gather some snowboard amateurs ready to step up their game with a few tricks in their repertoire for the winter. This deal will run trough the whole winter, every Saturday from December 19th 2015 till April 10th 2016. The idea is to offer a freestyle initiation at a reasonable price and build up a community of riders over the winter.
Alright, thanks for you help pushing snowboarding in the right direction! We’re looking forward to kicking off the season with you guys… any last words before we wrap this up?
Yes we would like to thank our partners who have been supporting us over the years : VonZipper, Nixon, Eastpak, Monster Energy Drinks, and of course Les Diablerets Tourist Office, Télédiablerets and the Glacier 3000.
We hope to see you all on the slopes this winter! Long Life to Snowboarding!
