Anti Social Awards III Best of November

December is already here, which means you’ll start seeing more and more clips of people slashing fresh snow. But unfortunately, you’ll probably still spend a couple more weeks at work with your board collecting dust, waiting for Santa to bring you holidays. Don’t worry, you’ll get pow soon, we promise. In the meantime, enjoy our little recap of what happened on the Gram last month. Let’s see what everyone’s favorite algorithm cooked up in November…

The 2 Good 2 Gram Award
Remember last time that you had so many shots for your part that you ended up premiering a perfect first try BS 180 over a huge crevasse on insta? Oh wait, that only happens to Mat Schaer.

The Powder Envy Award
On the opening days, you’d better stay on the slopes. We all know that the first layer of snow is always hiding some sharks. Going off piste means you’ll probably destroy your board. But Nicolas Hubert and Vincent Raths found a great new technique for protecting their bases — NEVER LAND ON YOUR BOARD. Why didn’t we ever think of that?

The SK8 Crush Award
Alright, we know this is not actual skateboarding. But come on, we’ve all dreamt of doing this in our local skatepark…

The Best Bail Award
We’ve never been that much into astrology, but even when we saw Philip’s board getting stuck under that rail, we would have never predicted that heavy of a scorpion in his future. Glad you walked away from that one Philip!

The Insta Tweak Award
We hate seeing amazing landscape format photos on Insta. I mean, come on, these pictures end up being so tiny that it’s almost not worth it. Silvano found a little workaround by using the slider option to supersize a few of Levi’s pow slashes. I mean, it’s still not paper, but it’s a solid hack of a shitty format.

The Not Snowboarding Award
WTF are you doing Dave? Well, at least you’re promoting eco-socks that are made from plastic that was removed from the ocean. Sniff one for the planet?

The DIY Award
Seeing Elio up-cycle some of his old boards, reminded us of the roots of snowboarding. Jake would be proud!

The WTF Award
Holy s***, I guess we can call this a near death experience. Imitate the one true Gimbal God and thou shalt be struck down.

The Gram of the Month
Remember Jonas Emery? He was one of snowboarding’s elite at the turn of the century, racking up amazing parts with Absinthe and Standard Films. Then he got into base jumping and had the most gnarly accident. The fact that he’s walking is a miracle. This clip warms the heart. Go Jonas!
