What the Reps are Riding Chapter 2

Welcome to chapter 2 of our series introducing our local reps. If you missed chapter 1, be sure to check it here. We’re happy to introduce you to more of the characters who make the Swiss snowboard industry so strong. Our reps may not be out filming video parts and winning competitions, but they know a hell of a lot about the gear, so we took the opportunity to get to know them a bit better…

Charlotte Lorenzo

Please introduce yourself.
I started snowboarding when I fell in love with it, or maybe it was the other way around… but whatever! I wouldn’t be here otherwise.

What’s your role at Nidecker?
I’m the sales rep for the brands Nidecker, Jones, Yes and Thirty Two in Romandie and Ticino. That means I bring the good vibes and a feminine touch in this male dominated industry… plus all the boring things that also comes with the job, that I obviously love too.

What kind of snowboarding are you the most stoked on at the moment?
I love to ride and I like to share the stoke with good people. I like to go fast, carve, hit some jibs from time to time and the best are big powder days. Après-ski is also a priority and I’m pretty good at it :)

What’s your setup for next season?
I’m super stoked on Nidecker’s Sensor. It’s a freestyle board that you can use everywhere on the resort and rely on! I ride it with the Supermatic bindings,  because they’re so fast and work great for me. They also fit perfectly with the Rift boots, which are super comfortable!

Anything else that you’d like to add?
I really want to thank Whiteout for being a true media in this time of fake news, social media bullshit, etc. And the Nidecker Family! Keep the true spirit alive guys. Love you!

Michel Hoffmann

Please introduce yourself.
Hi my name is Michel and I live just outside of Zurich.

What’s your role at Sideshore?
I have been working as the Sales Rep for Rome Snowboards, Bataleon, Deeluxe and POW Gloves since 2016.

What kind of snowboarding are you the most stoked on at the moment?
I’m always stoked to go snowboarding with friends, no matter the terrain. While powder is definitely my absolute favorite, we also have a blast carving, jumping side hits or jibbing in the park. I started snowboarding about 25 years ago and I still love it just as much as I did on the first day.

What’s your setup for next season?
I’m stoked to shred the all-new Rome Boneless 153cm with Katana FASE bindings – such a fun setup. And for boots, I mostly ride the Deeluxe Aeris – Kevin Backstrom’s Pro Model.

Anything else that you’d like to add?
Stay creative and spread the stoke with your crew

Mirco Hilber

Please introduce yourself.
I’m from Baselland… My job is 50% selling boards and bindings, 30% riding, and 20% explaining to my family that yes, this is a real career.

What’s your role at DAC Sport?
I’ve been working as the area rep for Capita & Union for the past 5 years.

What kind of snowboarding are you the most stoked on at the moment?
Mostly snowboarding with my kids and friends. I’ve been riding since 1997, so I consider myself to be solid and seasoned.

What’s your setup for next season?
Board: Aeronaut 155 by Arthur Longo
Binding: Strata with the new updated ankle strap and bushing
Boot: The new UNION Reset Pro “Made in Italy” (No pictures yet, as the official release will be in September 2025.)

Anything else that you’d like to add?
Shoutout to Whiteout, the snowboard community, and everyone I’ve had the joy of riding, working, and partying with over the past two decades!

Dino Mehic

Please introduce yourself.
I live in Thun, a charming town nestled among stunning mountains, a lake, and a river called Aare. It’s a wonderful place to call home, but if you’re into freeriding, you might be disappointed — there are no lines here at all, and trust me, you won’t have any fun 😉

What’s your role at Vision-O?
I began my journey in the industry 10 years ago as a tech rep for Salomon Snowboards. Today, I’m a sales representative for Vision-O, an agency that manages some of the coolest brands in the snowboard and skateboard industry, including Salomon snowboards and Volcom, just to name a few.

What kind of snowboarding are you the most stoked on at the moment?
What excites me the most right now is watching my kids have an absolute blast snowboarding. But there’s nothing better than catching the first gondola to shred some fresh powder with my gang — just like back in the day! I started skateboarding when I was 10 years old, sticking with it through summer and winter. One day, I gave snowboarding a try and instantly fell in love. Switching between the two boards kept my motivation high, as each season brought its own unique benefits.

What’s your setup for next season?
I’ve always been a huge fan of the Salomon Hillside Project. Wolle Nyvelt brings his extensive experience to shaping those boards, collaborating closely with each team rider to fulfill their vision. They build numerous prototypes, refining them until they achieve the perfect design. This close collaboration with the team during the prototyping process is what makes these boards so exceptional. The insights gained from this process are infused into every Salomon board.

For next season, I’ve found my new favorite board: the HPS – GOOP 157. It’s incredibly versatile and perfect for the entire mountain. With its mid-wide design, it transitions edge to edge quickly. It’s perfect on side hits, and makes carving smooth and effortless. I pair it with Salomon Synergy boots and Hologram bindings for the ultimate setup. If you’re at a demo next year, definitely give it a try!

Anything else that you’d like to add?
Working and having fun in this industry truly feels like a blessing. In the Swiss scene, there’s not a single person — sales rep or retailer — who’s an absolute asshole. Everyone’s just super cool, and it genuinely feels like one big family. From what I’ve heard, this kind of vibe is pretty unique compared to other countries.

Sacha Mertès

Please introduce yourself.
I’m from the Lausanne Region and I might look like a Gangster, but I’m still a nice person :) Too many tattoos, not much white skin :)

What’s your role at Elevate Outdoor Collective?
I’m starting my 8th year for EOC. I’m the area Manger for Ride & K2 Snowboards for half of Switzerland.

What kind of snowboarding are you the most stoked on at the moment?
I’m always cruising in the park, shredding the piste and going in the powder when the conditions are good.

What’s your setup for next season?
I’m shredding a Ride setup: The Zero with the New Specter Black Binding and the Torrent Boot.

Anything else that you’d like to add?
Go Snowboarding and keep have fun. Go to the shops to see the new products and buy good stuff. And come join us at the next Test Day :)

Thanks to Charlotte, Michel, Mirco, Dino and Sacha for answering our questions! The third and final chapter of “What the Reps are Riding” is coming soon.
