It’s been a long time since Belalp hosted an end of season QP event. Contributing editor, Kuno Egli, was there to document the event and did his best to decipher all of the mysterious acronyms.
A: Arsène “Juni” Page: You may recognize him from his role as a dealer on the Tschugger TV series. Now he’s got a CBD brand and is hosting great events like the BME – STD… (Which we’re pretty sure stands for Shred Till Death, not Sexually Transmitted Disease.)

B: BME: Homegrown Swiss CBD distributors… and also Quarter Pipe builders.

C: Cage is Open: Swiss Punk Band bringing the perfect energy to events like this.

D: Dario Bianchi: One of many RAD Movie OGs in attendance.

E: Eliot Golay: Co-Founder of Man We Need A Cam and up-cycler at Crak Haus Fabrik. He was busy making tote bags all day, though we would’ve loved to see him hitting the QP.

F: Florian Fischer Forever: We miss you Flo!

G: Gian Sutter: Winner of the overall title.

H: Highest Air Award: This went to Gian as well.

I: Isa Lötscher: She was absolutely ripping and blasted some of the highest Methods of the event.

J: Joint: Our first time seeing one this big at an event.

K: Kusi Mathis: Winner of the best trick with beautiful FS Alley-Oops, like this one.

L: Levi Schalbetter: Winner of the best rookie award.

M: Melvin Rial: Shreds the bass and has good taste in sweatshirts.

N: New Zealand: Jake Stewart traveled a long way to get here (and to visit Jennifer Albert).

O: Off the Extension: Snow skate drop-in by Gerome Häni.
P: Pawel Brunner: Keep an eye out for this young gun from Berne.

Q: Quarter Pipe: getting the chance to ride one is a pretty rare opportunity these days. Look at this beauty!

R: Redirect: Gian Sutter coming out of the Quarter onto the flat rail.
S: Schärer. Michael may have quit competing, but he’s still got that textbook method.
T: Tristan Schumacher: Winner of the skate jam.

U: Uncle P – Providing the tunes for the event.

V: Voice of Tom Lehmann: You know it is a great event if you hear Tom on the megaphone all day.

W: Willi Arnold: Worked on his Fast Plants and his tan.

X: X-tra Large: Lionel Rösli did the highest air… on skis. Juni rewarded his achievement with the best of all prizes: A brand new West snowboard!

Y: Yannick Imboden: Sadly broke his wrist. He was awarded some cash for worst bail. Get well soon, Yängi!

Z: Zoé Roffi: Rode hard on the rails and the QP before leaving for the US to compete in the Uninvited Invitational. Good luck, Zoé!

A huge thank you to Juni, all the volunteers and all the sponsors who made this event possible! If you missed your chance to watch the quarter pipe action on the Belalp, you get another chance in Chandolin on the 19th of April: La Digue is calling!
